As an investor in people, technology and tradition, Hahnemühle Fine Art will ensure its production remains in Germany. The company bucks the recent trend to re-locate production sites abroad. “The production of premium filter products requires a demanding manufacturing environment, which we only find in Germany at present.” explains Friedrich Nebel, Managing Director at Hahnemühle.
The oldest German paper mill has produced premium filter papers for more than 125 years at its site in Dassel. Due to this, Hahnemühle has an access to experienced and highly trained employees. The solidarity of the staff with the paper mill and the passion for products, some of which are handmade, are two reasons for Hahnemühle’s success. Only selected raw materials and pure spring water are used for production.more

Hahnemühle FineArt has announced the launch of a range of archive and portfolio boxes for storing fine art inkjet prints. The boxes are acid free and age resistant and have been designed in conjunction with museums and galleries in China for the safe storage of precious artworks and artefacts. The boxes will be unveiled at Focus on Imaging in Birmingham 3-6 March 2013.
Made in Germany, the boxes are supplied flat packed to save space and can be quickly and easily folded into the completed box. The boxes come with an outer colour of Dove Grey, which is the favoured colour of museums and archival institutions, whilst the inside is natural white.
Available in four sizes to hold A4, A3, A3+ and A2 sheets, the boxes are constructed from a microwave board in a thickness of 1.6mm for A4 and a heavier 3.0mm board for the larger sizes.
Hahnemühle’s elegant new booth design at this year’s Paperworld/Creativeworld inspired both customers and employees equally.
The new and colourful stitched sketch booklets ‘Sketch & Note’ available in A6, A5 and A4 were launched at the show. “With the size of a smartphone or tablet PC, the sketch books inspire for quick sketches or creative configurations on a haptic medium” says Rana Ardal-Altun, Product Manager at Hahnemühle. Particularly popular were the noble black sketch books with a strong binding and generous pocket at the back.more
