Can you believe it? Over four centuries of uninterrupted papermaking tradition in the location where the papermaker Merten Spieß founded the paper mill in 1584. Why did he find it here, of all places, at the foot of the Solling mountain range in southern Lower Saxony? This reason still applies today: then, as now, we produce our paper with pure spring water from our own artesian wells.
