Behind every art reproduction is a long and time-consuming process. Because only with a lot of dedication, motivation and professionalism a precise reproduction can be achieved.
The dream of every traditional artist was and is the reproduction of his works in order to increase his popularity and income. At the same time, the greatest difficulty was and still is not to lose the individual soul of an artwork. Nowadays, complex colour and tone variations can be reproduced ‘more easily’ using digital art reproduction. Nevertheless, many small steps have to be taken in this process. Besides a close cooperation between print studio and artist, enormous knowledge and experience in printing and paper selection is necessary. For this reason, many traditional artists rely on our Hahnemühle Digital FineArt Collection for their reproductions. It brings our traditional artist papers into the digital world.
Anna Sokolva, an award-winning illustrator and artist, is an enthusiastic Hahnemühle Traditional and Digital Paper user. In one of her latest projects she created 25 murals based on Netflix Original Series for the Netflix headquarter in Amsterdam. For this she relied on our Hahnemühle Expression Watercolour (300gsm). The Muesum of Illustration in New York selected her work for the film ‘Annihilation’ for their annual exhibition. Anna has therefore decided to reproduce her work on Hahnemühle William Turner.
