Hahnemühle has been very active in introducing new fine art inkjet papers. At Photokina 2014 Hahnemühle FineArt Baryta Satin 300 gsm was announced as the latest addition to the world’s leading Digital FineArt Collection. As a ‘Certified Studio’ in the Netherlands, I was able to test the new paper extensively and completely independent in my lab Fine Art Printing Specialist. The printed results on this fine art paper for inkjet printing has impressed us – with vivid and detailed colours, deep blacks and a fine glow on top. Well done Hahnemühle!
Hahnemühle FineArt Baryta Satin is a very nice artist paper with a light texture in the surface, which is characteristic for geniune fine art papers. The colour reproduction is very fine, the tone curve almost perfectly, in fact. The deep blacks and the details remain highly visible with impressive sharpness. The image perceived – the depth and three-dimensionality – is very good. The paper white is warm white to off-white, because the paper contains no optical brighteners. The tone of the paper adds the printed image add a nuance. With 300gsm the new barite paper is a presentable, tacky paper for vivid black and white prints or colour motifs with a beautiful and subtle shimmer on the surface. My detailed review in English can be found here.
The paper is now available worldwide and has the following features:
300 gsm ⋅ 100% α-Cellulose ⋅ ⋅ white satin gloss ⋅ aging according to ISO 9706th
Ask your fine art paper dealer or your print provider for the new Hahnemühle FineArt Baryta Satin and stay excited about our “Shoot to Print” event. Five Dutch photographers present images of different genre such as portrait, fashion or advertising photography on the new paper. We will report along with Hahnemühle.
