“Image selection is done, print production is running …” Romano P. Riedo informed us from Switzerland on his upcoming project. The winner of the Swiss Press Photo Awards 2014 prints its multi award winning black and white series ‘Hinterland’ (Back Country) on the new Hahnemühle Photo Silk Baryta for Oberstdorf Photo Summit (8 to 14 June 2014) .
Photographer Romano P. Riedo captured silent moments of a hard, busy life in the Swiss Alps: portraits of weathered faces of the mountain farmers, regional roots craft like cheese making or the traditional architecture in contrast to the gleaming posters advertising on the old walls.
“My exhibition at Oberstdorf Photo Summit from 8 to June 14, 2014 is taking shape. Together with the curator Christian Popkes we have the images selected. Now the printer is running hot and bit by bit my black and white photos are coming out of the printer. This is exciting as in earlier darkroom days – only with less inconvenience and noxious fumes.”
Romano P. Riedo printed on Hahnemühle Photo Silk Baryta, the new inkjet paper with the look and feel of a classic silver halide photographic paper. He is enthusiastic: “My Epson Stylus Pro with its pigment inks and the new Hahnemühle Photo Silk Baryta photo paper complement each other perfectly and are perfectly matched. The Photo Silk Baryta is great by offering a gentle paper tone and capturing deep blacks for my high-contrast pictures of the Alps.”
The photographer was recently honored with the Swiss Press Photo Award 2014 printed additionally to his large format exhibition images some samples in A4. Convince yourself of the look and feel of fine barite inkjet paper from the Hahnemühle Photo Range – in Oberstdorf or at one of our dealers or Certified Studios.
