The competition, titled ‘Show us your series’, was launched on 1 March and is aimed at creative young talents. All students who are enrolled at a university or a photography school and specialise in photography were eligible to take part.

The competition has now reached the second and final round!
In this final round, which takes place in November, the series by the 50 finalists will be printed on Hahnemühle paper and evaluated by the jury. All finalist get their paper of choice from Hahnemühle´s paper portfolio. The jury assesses not only the creativity of the series, but also looks at photographic quality and how suitable the choice of paper is for the subject matter.
The winners will receive attractive cash prizes: the top three finalists will receive a cash prize of EUR 1,500 for first place, EUR 1,000 for second place and EUR 500 for third place. The winning photo series will be displayed at the Hahnemühle stand at photokina 2020 (including PR support).

About the Student Photo Competition
The first international Student Photo Competition had been aimed to encourage up-and-coming talents to see and feel their own images printed. The motto “Only a printed imageis a good image” addressed photo students to explorethe different Hahnemühle papers. Younger target groups are aware of the Hahnemühle brand as best in class products, however choose sometimes less premium papers to print thesises or first exhibitions. Therefore, the Student Photo Competition had been a great possibility to encourage up-and-coming talents to discover premium inkjetpapers. The Student Photo Competition should encourage young photographers to have aconscious look at the Hahnemühle FineArt inkjet media range, give an overview about the different Hahnemühle FineArt inkjet papers, motivate to print, to explore the different results on different papers and to try out the influence of differentpaper surfaces on the image effect.
About Hahnemühle
Hahnemühle is regarded as the inventor of Digital FineArt paper for inkjet printers. For more than 20 years, the oldest German paper manufacturer has been leading the way in producing true artist papers for photography and art reproductions. The papers – made with over 435 years of manufacturing experience – all receive a special coating that does not affect the exquisite feel of the papers. The inkjet coating produces prints with razor sharp details, bold colours and deep blacks. All papers have an excellent resistance to ageing. The Hahnemühle Digital FineArt Collection offers more than 20 different types of paper, and the Hahnemühle Photo range includes eight types of media. Awarded ‘Brand of the Century’, Hahnemühle enjoys an esteemed reputation worldwide among artists, photographers, museums, galleries and collectors.
