Three more Hahnemühle FineArt papers have received excellent quality certification from HP Indigo. Already in 2022, the Cold Pressed Art Paper 250 was rated first class.
Hahnemühle Hybrid Hemp, a paper specially developed for book printing, has been carefully tested by Rochester Institute of Technology’s (RIT) Printing Applications Laboratory over the last few months and has now been awarded the official HP Indigo certificate for the HP Indigo digital printing process at the beginning of February. Especially the aspects runnability and media compatibility were awarded the highest quality certification of three stars and best performance.
“It is the first paper made from sustainable hemp fibres grown in Europe for environmentally conscious print products. It impresses with the authenticity and feel of a paper made from sustainable plant fibres. The hybrid Hahnemühle hemp paper delivers outstanding results in text, photo and image printing for authors, agencies, print service providers and publishers,” explains Heidemarie Hinger, Business Development Manager at Hahnemühle
Like all Hahnemühle papers, the Hybrid Hemp digital printing paper is acid-free, highly resistant to ageing, and vegan. It is available in three different weights as cover and content paper with 80, 90 or 280 g/m2. HP Indigo sheet-fed digital presses or HP PageWide web presses, for example, are recommended for printing the papers.
The Hybrid Hemp paper was initially developed exclusively for printing the book “H is for HEMP”, an innovative hemp encyclopaedia by photographer and author Maren Krings. Her book on the subject of industrial hemp, is a reference work on the history and today versatile use of this unique pulp. The development of Hahnemühle’s hemp paper and its production are exclusively presented in the book “H is for Hemp”, along with exciting reportage photographs that accompanied Maren’s adventures during her five-year journey around the world.
