The unforgiving print and the importance of paper choice

Joel Tjintjelaar is a photographer, educator and writer with a passion for black & white photography, architecture and long exposure photography. He  runs the bw/vision.com blog where we stumbled upon an article by Red Ognita on the importance of printing superbly in order to call an image fine art. Red Ognita is a multi award-winning black & white fine art photographer and printer with his own studio redlab based in the Philippines. He speaks passionately and with extensive knowledge on creating fine art prints for artists from around the world and the importance of printing in this digital age. Jim Mortram: "My photographs are about the endurance some people need just to survive"

This blog post features Jim Mortram. A talented photographer who captures the everyday lives of those who lives in Dereham (County of Norfolk, UK, which is very local to the Hahnemühle UK’s office)
Jim only takes photographs in a 3 mile radius of his local village. He captures with empathy many of the difficulties in life with people living off benefits, self-harm and even people looking after a relative with an illness like himself. Jim believes, “my photographs are about the endurance some people need just to survive.”  The most important thing is telling their story. So he does with his images.
