Jared Windmüller explaining in a Q & A his idea of Photosinbox:
Q: How and why I have created Photosinbox?
A: After living for a few years in Japan and traveling to China and Europe several times, I have collected a large number of great images of exceptional places. When I came back to Brazil I immediately started working with wedding photography. My travels images were stored, without been really seeing. But I have noticed, especially in the past three years, that the use of photography in the decoration segment has increased a lot. So I decided to create a versatile product with my own images for people who loves photography to decorate their homes and offices. It was difficult for me to choose between color and the black and white photography, because both of them are beautiful, have their own charm and attraction. In fact, I wanted to show both of them! This is why I created Photosinbox. Photosinbox is just more than a simple frame, it is a design product that allows us to admire an image from both sides, and to appreciate it either in color or in black and white. People can enjoy it in many ways, just as their mood are, Photosinbox can stand above the furniture or hang on the wall – as a single piece or as a collection together with other Photosinbox frames.
Q: Why I choose Hahnemühle Photo Luster paper?
A: After creating the design for the brand new Photosinbox, the next challenge was to find the right materials to produce it. I wanted to have the best of each process, to achieve the best possible quality. The reproduction of the images was, of course, a key part of the whole project. Fortunately I received the visit of Luciana Leite, Hahnemühle’s Area Manager for Brazil, who listened carefully about my project and ideas and showed me their new Photo Luster paper. I compared the sample with other papers I had already tried. It suited perfectly to Photosinbox! In this great paper I have found the wonderful luminous effect to my photographs, an excellent rigidity, the brilliancy and splendor I wanted to transmit to my pictures. It resulted in great printed images like the ones provided by laboratories. The long-lasting guaranty, exceptional quality and tradition were other essential factors for choosing Hahnemühle´s paper.
Q: What exactly is Photosinbox frame?
A: Photosinbox defines a box of a finest lacquered wood that frames two prints of the same image, one in color and one in black and white, assembled backside on backside in the frame. Easy to move and carry, it can be displayed on your desk at home or work as well as on any other furniture. But if you prefer, you can also hang it freely suspended in a room or on the wall. The product design was created to follow the trend of the photography used as a work of art in the decoration and ambiance segments. Each Photosinbox is signed and has limited editions. A leaflet gives information about the location where the photo was taken. All photographs are printed on Hahnemühle Photo Luster using a fine art printer by Canon. Each Photosinbox belongs to a collection and can be combined with other Photosinbox. The series “Nature”, “Landscape”, “Abstract” and “Gourmet” are available and can be combined creating a modern contemporary atmosphere with exclusivity.
