More than 100 photographers – one cause: hope for Africa’s animals, nature and people in times of Corona. This is the idea behind printsforwildlife.org in short. The world’s best wildlife and ‘rather’ small local photographers contribute their strongest images to help with this print fundraiser campaign during the COVID-19 pandemic. All limited FineArt prints are sold for charity. We at Hahnemühle love this campaign and proudly supply the new Hahnemühle Hemp paper from the Natural Line, the perfect match for thrilling and emotional animal photographs. We are even financially involved in the campaign with our own Green Rooster initiative. “Prints for Wildlife” have run from 26 July to 26 August 2020 … and continues.
Photographers Pie Aerts (Instagram: @pie_aerts) and Marion Payr (Instagram: @ladyvenom) have initiated Prints for Wildlife: “Just because we can’t travel to these parks because of Corona doesn’t mean we can’t provide meaningful support. That’s why we have joined forces with dedicated and generous international wildlife photographers for an extraordinary limited-edition fundraising campaign to support local communities and wildlife reserves during the COVID-19 pandemic”.
Prints for Wildlife has raised more than $660,000 in only one month and Hahnemühle is also donating €10,000 from its environmental initiative Green Rooster. Each FineArt print is sold for $100. Many motifs were sold out within the first days of the campaign, so photographers donated new motifs or shared the news and inspired others to join the project with their impressive pictures. We, at Hahnemühle have supplied our Hemp paper for the limited edition prints. The combination of motifs from the heart of Africa and our natural white, sustainable hemp paper is simply unbeatable.
The high-end prints on Hahnemühle Hemp paper are made by Gallery Color – a professional Dutch photo lab that even produces high quality prints for museums, art galleries, artists, photographers and collectors. All prints are produced on the brand new, sustainable Hahnemühle Natural Line Hemp paper. This paper is made from one of the oldest and most diverse natural fibres in the world: It consists of 60% hemp fibres and 40% cotton. The slightly structured surface gives the paper a pleasant, silky feel. Colours and details are brilliantly reproduced on the bright white natural tone of the paper, the depth of the black is impressive and contrasts have an amazingly vivid effect. 6000 people have now a Prints for Wildlife image on Hahnemühle paper at home. That makes us proud!
The Prints for Wildlife proceeds and Hahnemühle’s Green Rooster donation will go to African Parks, a non-profit organisation that manages 18 nature reserves in 11 countries. “Thanks to this incredible support, we are able to protect biodiversity – from vast tropical forests to brilliant blue seascapes – to prevent poaching and the illegal trade in wildlife and to protect the species at their source,” said Lindsey Watcham of African Parks Organisation. The NGO has been active in Africa for 20 years and its work is more important than ever, especially in times of Corona.
Such an interesting article thanks for this great share mate.
