Hahnemühle proudly presents its first international Student Photo Competition! We are looking for up-and-coming talents who are aiming to present their images in the best way. So, take the chance to present your images to an international jury and print a series on the finest Hahnemühle Digital FineArt Paper. As the inventor of fine art inkjet papers, we want to share our reputation with the photographers of tomorrow.
Call for entries
You have the chance to submit a series of five photos and take part in our photo competition – no matter what your individual style and focus is. The choice of theme is left entirely up to you, as long as it complies with the terms and conditions of entry.
As the first step, you can submit your work online via the upload portal from 1 March to 30 April 2019.
How does the competition work?
The competition is open for photography students only and consists of two rounds. In the first round, the jury selects 50 finalists from among all the online entries. In the second and final round, the 50 finalists will submit their photo series printed on Hahnemühle paper.
To make choosing the paper easier, every finalist will receive one set each of all of the Hahnemühle Digital FineArt Collection sample packs and one set of the Hahnemühle Photo Range sample pack. This means that every participant in the final round has the opportunity to choose the paper that best suits their own photo series.
Each finalist will then get a box of 25 sheets in A3+ format of their paper of choice to print on and send in their series for final judging.
Show us your series!
All students who are enrolled at a university or a photography school and specialise in photography are eligible to take part. Submit your photos – we’re looking forward to seeing your work!
It’s worth taking part!
The top three finalists will receive a cash prize of EUR 1,500 for first place, EUR 1,000 for second place and EUR 500 for third place. The prize money is intended to further promote and financially support your photography work.
As a special highlight, the winning photo series will be displayed at the Hahnemühle booth at Photokina 2020 and exhibited at the gallery “Eisfabrik” in Hannover (Germany) for six weeks.
So, join in and show us your series!
