Everything that is classically nautical can be found in our exclusive 2018 Hahnemühle FineArt Calendar. We therefore proudly present the video of shortlisted calendar paintings. Thank you to ALL participants who took part in the competition!

We have had an outstanding response. With more than 750 artists, from 36 countries, who have submitted a remarkable 1700 pictures. We are absolutely thrilled about the sheer volume and high quality work that we have received. There has been so much creativity in motifs, style and techniques.

Our final announcement of the 12 winners will be made in October 2017, so stay tuned for our next announcement, and keep your fingers crossed!


From the studio: Alexa Dilla about her artwork for Hahnemühle's Art Calendar 2016

Alexa Dilla, freelance artist and painter on board of a large cruise ship, has painted one of the winning motifs of the Hahnemühle Art Calendar 2016. Her artwork was selected for the month of February. In our studio report, Alexa tells us what inspired her painting “Amsterdam in the Rain”. Looking for green oasis – painting competition on "Nature in the City" starts

An urban park with skyline, lined up flower pots on the balcony or a vegetable garden on the high-rise rooftop – show us your green oasis in an urban environment or your dream of it. Hahnemühle’s new painting competition is now open. Nature in the City” is the trendy theme for our art calendar 2016. We look forward to many international submissions and want to reach the record participation from last year again. The bar is set high: 1,200 images from 500 artists from 46 countries were submitted for the 2015 calendar. So join in and tell others about the competition!


CONTRASTS are welcome in Hahnemühle´s art calendar contest

“I like the play of contrasts and use both complementary and chiaroscuro effects to create tension and bring vitality into my work. Regardless of technique and material, the precise expressive references  that I want to convey arise” says artist Cordula Kerlikowski. Her pictures in the invitation to this year’s painting competition for the Hahnemühle 2015 art calendar are intended to inspire other artists – both hobbyists and professionals.
