“I can breathe really well with them and the paper masks are also environmentally friendly”, Petra Beyer, headmistress of a primary school in Einbeck, Lower Saxony, is delighted with the HaMuNa® Care disposable mouth and nose covers. “They are great for employees or children who do not have their own mask or for visitors,” added the teacher when handing over the donation at the end of May.
Hahnemühle supports schools, universities, charties and public institutions with HaMuNa® Care disposable mouth and nose covers made of filter paper in a large-scale campaign – regionally, nationally and internationally. More than 50,000 masks have already been donated around the company´s headquarter in Lower Saxony, Germany. Many more are now being distributed to charities and public institutions throughout Germany and via Hahnemühle´s subsidiaries in the USA, Great Britain and France.
“We are proud that our HaMuNa® Care disposable masks will give people more security in difficult times – with an innovative product. Our paper technologists have developed the mouth and nose masks made of high-purity filter paper in a very short time”, emphasises Jan Wölfle, Managing Director of the Hahnemühle Group.
The paper has an effectiveness similar to a virostatic. It prevents the spread of droplet secretion contaminated with viruses. Droplets are absorbed directly in front of the mouth and nose when breathing, speaking, sneezing or coughing, thus preventing corona viruses from spreading and avoiding Covid-19 infections.
The paper is very absorbent, therefore the HaMuNa® Care Mask does not have to be tight-fitting when worn – breathing is easy and glasses do not fog up. The paper consists of 100% natural raw materials and contains no other composites. The paper masks can be worn for several hours.
“Of course, we also adapt to the current situation and open our interactive exhibition of mobility PS.Speicher in the town of Einbeck with all hygiene and distance requirements. Now we have the disposable mouth and nose covers made of absorbent paper from Hahnemühle for our visitors. With this we are not only supporting a company from the region of Lower Saxony but are also protecting our employees and thus minimising the risk of infection,” says Lothar Meyer-Mertel, Managing Director of the PS.Speicher in Einbeck.
“Our HaMuNa® Care masks are the starting signal for an entire product family that we are currently developing to manufacture urgently needed protective equipment. Our high-purity papers are perfect as inlays for various mouth and nose covers. In addition, we are developing and producing filter media for Corona/Covid 19 diagnostic tests with partners. We are also working flat out on this,” concludes Dr. Horst Rosenbauer, Product Manager Filtration at Hahnemühle.
