At\u00a0 photokina 2016, a large-format portrait of a mighty elephant will impress at the Hahnem\u00fchle booth in hall 3.1, A25.\u00a0\u00a0 The outstanding print on Hahnem\u00fchle German Etching with its fine texture captivates the character and soul of the animal. It truly appears to be standing right in front of the onlooker in the flesh.
\nFor the privilage to show \u2018Golden Giant\u2019 at photokina, Hahnem\u00fchle will donate the profit of the sale of sample packs to the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust in Kenya.<\/p>\n

Sample packs are ideal for obtaining an overview over the more than 30 Hahnem\u00fchle papers and canvas. You can choose between packs with smooth, textured or glossy surface. Each sample pack comprises 12 to 16 sheets (six to eight kinds) in the A4 format and is available for \u20ac5. At the previous photokina, Hahnem\u00fchle also donated the profits from the sale of sample packs to the environmental project, \u2018Stella Polaris \u2013 Ulloriasuaq\u2019. That year more than \u20ac10,000 was donated to the remarkable project.<\/p>\n

Since 2009, Joachim Schmeisser has been supporting the Wildlife Trust by selling or auctioning pictures of elephant orphans. \u201cI have been working in the fine art printing area for many years and the Hahnem\u00fchle papers were well known to me right from the start,\u201d states Schhmeisser. \u201cTherefore, I particularly look forward to the cooperation at\u00a0 photokina. Hahnem\u00fchle\u2019s German Etching or William Turner papers, are my preferred material. The texture of this paper corresponds extremely well with the elephant\u2019s skin structure and provides the pictures an incredible depth.\u201d
\nThe exhibition print was created by the \u2018Druckstudio Immagis\u2019 in Munich, J\u00fcrgen Schmeisser and Hahnem\u00fchle thank the studio for the perfect print.<\/p>\n

For more than 30 years, now, the David Sheldrick Trust has been running a rescue station for elephant orphans in the Nairobi National Park. Professional keepers take care of traumatised elephant babies whose parents were killed due to the ivory trade. The elephant orphans are bottle-fed. In the community of elder pups, they learn social behaviour. Only when the animals are old enough to join a herd they are released back into the wild.[\/vc_column_text][vc_separator color=”mulled_wine”][vc_column_text]Hahnem\u00fchle produces paper since 1584 and is the oldest German paper mill for artist papers. Besides traditional artist papers digital FineArt papers for inkjet prints are part of the portfolio today. The development and manufacture of technical specialty papers for industrial and research is another priority.
