Wildlife photographer Marco Ronconi<\/a> in the interview for our series during the first week of the Hahnem\u00fchle Photography Month.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Could you introduce yourself in 3-4 sentences?<\/strong><\/p>\n “My name is Marco Ronconi, I\u2019m a professional photographer and publisher. I\u2019m 37 years old and I live in northern Italy.”<\/p>\n <\/p>\n How and when did you figure out you wanted to become a wildlife\\nature photographer?<\/strong><\/p>\n “It happened quickly; I\u2019ve started to taking pictures just six years ago. I thought it was a very interesting chance to combine my passion for art and love for nature. This is the reason why I\u2019ve not \u201cdecided to\u201d. It was almost a natural choice, nothing planed but just following my feelings.”<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Why do you print your images?<\/strong><\/p>\n “You often hear or read how images could take another dimension only after printing. Well, that\u2019s the simple reality for me. I\u2019ve always had a personal passion for books, prints and for papers. It\u2019s the reason why I decided to create my own publishing house as well. Printing represents one of the most important part of the equation to me. I sell fine-art prints not just for the income but because I\u2019ve always thought that someone who decide to hang your work really demonstrates appreciation for your work. Even more nowadays. Putting likes here and there on social media is simple, but choosing to get a print, no matter the dimensions, is another level of appreciation. Prints could also serve a higher cause; they could make people more sensible or aware of important topics. Being able to touch something, to fell the textures, still gives more importance and prominence to it.”<\/p>\n <\/p>\n When it comes to paper choice- why did you go for Hahnemuhle?<\/strong><\/p>\n “I\u2019ve always followed a simple principle, to look for the best possible quality in my work and to work with few but best in the industry brands. Hahnemuhle was the obvious choice regarding quality and history. My favorite line of papers is the eco-line and I personally print all my images with agave paper. I love the feel and the texture because it matches perfectly with my style. And it has a very very low impact on the ambient.”<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Why did you support Prints for wildlife with your work and why do you think the cause is important?<\/strong><\/p>\n “Being a nature and wildlife lover (that\u2019s the base), I think any person in this position need to act as much as possible to sensibilize people\u2019s soul. I deliberately speak about sensibilizing and not \u201cchanging\u201d because it represents the first but most important step to any changes. More than 170 wildlife photographers, including renown international and emerging and local wildlife photogrpahers, have come together to mobilise needed support for one cause: to continue the protection of vital landscapes in Africa. The fundraiser runs from 11 July to 11 August 2021. All funds collected via the print sale go directly to conservation non-profit African Parks<\/a>.
