Through an exploration of the interstices between opposing elements such as nature and artifice, chaos and order, I wish to explore entropic systems where healing may occur. I want my audience to be confronted by a raw sense of what it means to be alive&#8221; stated artist <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tobiastovera.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Tobias Tovera<\/a>. His ongoing series &#8216;Diffusion of Pigment&#8217; comprises abstract monochromatic pigment paintings. Originals are translucent works of art\u00a0 which are reproduced on the perfectly suited fine art paper &#8211; a genuine digital fine art paper by Hahnem\u00fchle. The limited edition prints by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.candelafineart.com\/#_=_\" target=\"_blank\">Candela Fine Art Printing<\/a> (Hahnem\u00fchle Certified Studio) are large-scale art reproductions for exhibitions, collectors, as shop or interior decoration. We are honoured to feature Tobias Tovera in a Q&amp;A.\u00a0 <\/span><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.hahnemuehle.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/12\/2016\/04\/Studio2015_100DPI.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-9886\" src=\"http:\/\/blog.hahnemuehle.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/12\/2016\/04\/Studio2015_100DPI-1024x1009.jpg\" alt=\"Studio2015_100DPI\" width=\"222\" height=\"219\" \/><\/a>When did you discover your passion for painting?<br \/>\n<\/strong>I discovered my passion for painting and sculpture during my studies as an art student. \u00a0I studied sculpture during undergraduate school which led to painting. Painting became a way to explore both the two dimensional and the three dimensional.<\/p>\n<p><strong>How did you come to the world of painting?<br \/>\n<\/strong> Outside of art classes that I elected to take in high school I was introduced to the world of art during my undergraduate and graduate studies. What I loved about art school was that it provided a platform for me to find my voice as an artist and it encouraged me to explore new materials.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Which of your projects\/motifs opened the door to the art market\/professional market?<br \/>\n<\/strong>The first series of paintings that I created. I remember handing my business card to one of the curators at Micaela Gallery in San Francisco, 2007. I was scheduled for my first studio visit and invited to my<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.hahnemuehle.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/12\/2016\/04\/Candela-Fine-Art-Printing-reproduction-for-Tobias-Tovera.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignright wp-image-9884 size-medium\" src=\"http:\/\/blog.hahnemuehle.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/12\/2016\/04\/Candela-Fine-Art-Printing-reproduction-for-Tobias-Tovera-300x300.jpg\" alt=\"Candela Fine Art Printing reproduction for Tobias Tovera\" width=\"300\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a><\/strong> first group show at the gallery.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Who or what inspires you most?<\/strong><br \/>\nI am inspired most by Nature. I\u2019ve always been guided by the spirit of the universe around us and within us. It speaks to my purpose as a human and as an artist.<\/p>\n<p><strong>How would you describe your personal style?<\/strong><br \/>\nAbstract.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What is most challenging about your kind of art and making a living from what you do?<\/strong><br \/>\nCurrently the most challenging aspect of my practice is being able to produce new work while being under pressure with a demanding schedule. The business of art requires focus and discipline to be able to manage a successful studio.<\/p>\n<p><strong>How important is the printed presentation of your works of art?<br \/>\n<\/strong>Printing is imperative. Without printing there would not be as much access to my work and it has opened up many opportunities for projects that I would not be able to produce otherwise. Printing is also a beautiful way to r<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.hahnemuehle.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/12\/2016\/04\/Proofprint-of-Tobias-Tovera-on-Hahnem\u00fchle-PhotoRag.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-9885\" src=\"http:\/\/blog.hahnemuehle.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/12\/2016\/04\/Proofprint-of-Tobias-Tovera-on-Hahnem\u00fchle-PhotoRag-1024x1024.jpg\" alt=\"Proofprint of Tobias Tovera on Hahnem\u00fchle PhotoRag\" width=\"224\" height=\"224\" \/><\/a><\/strong>eproduce and document original work.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Who does the prints?<br \/>\n<\/strong>The art reproductions process (Digitalisation) and prints are done by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/candelafineart\/?fref=ts\" target=\"_blank\">Candela Fine Art Printing &#8211; <\/a><span class=\"fsxxl fwn fcw\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/candelafineart\/?fref=ts\" target=\"_blank\">Photographic and Artistic Services<\/a> in Oakland, California.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Which is your favorite Hahnem\u00fchle paper and why?<\/strong><br \/>\nPaper choice is very important. Having the appropriate weight and quality of paper insures the color and texture of the print. We use <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hahnemuehle.com\/en\/digital-fineart\/digital-fineart-collection\/matt-fineart\/p\/Product\/show\/8\/1.html\" target=\"_blank\">Photo Rag\u00ae 308<\/a> paper. It has the perfect weight for durability and saturation of ink for sharp tones and vivid color. I\u2019ve always used Hahnem\u00fchle papers for a high quality finish.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Do you have a dream project you would like to realize sometime?<br \/>\n<\/strong>To create an installation for the Unilever Series, an annual commission to make art specifically for the Tate Modern\u2019s Turbine Hall. \u00a0It\u2019s one of the most magnificent installation spaces in the world.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What\u2019s next?<\/strong><br \/>\nNew work. I am currently working on completing a new series of paintings.
