About Hahnemühle

Hahnemühle is an international premium manufacturer of the finest papers and has stood for quality, innovation and expertise in manufacturing since its founding year in 1584. In 2024, the company celebrated an incredible 440 years of uninterrupted paper production at Hahnemühle’s headquarters in southern Lower Saxony, Germany.

Today’s portfolio includes traditional artist papers and digital FineArt as well as photo papers plus accessories. As inventor and world market leader, Hahnemühle continuously refines its genuine artist papers for exclusive photo prints, digital art and art reproductions. Customer-specific development, production and processing of high-purity papers for life science applications and technical speciality papers have been ‘Made by Hahnemühle’ since 1883.

All paper grades are produced according to exclusive recipes from high-quality cotton fibres, cellulose or fast-growing plant fibres with advantages in terms of carbon footprint, durability and quality – using pure spring water from Hahnemühle’s own artesian wells. The traditional company produces paper under strict environmental regulations, as the production site is now located in a nature reserve.

With its own unique ‘Green Rooster’ initiative, Hahnemühle makes an important contribution to environmental and climate protection worldwide, as well as to social projects and the promotion of culture and sport – at regional, national and international level.

Hahnemühle is headquartered in Dassel in southern Lower Saxony and has subsidiaries in the UK, France, USA, Singapore and China.
