Italian photographer Nik Barte draws attention to global desertification and climate change. Several times he crossed the Sahara on foot and by bicycle. His photographs are aesthetic explorations of the desert. The black and white sand landscapes have become his photographic signature. He creates his prints on the matt, finely structured Hahnemühle Photo Rag® Ultra Smooth with the aim of touching people’s senses and sending a message. “My prints look like raptured motives without time, space and fixe points. Structures from silky to rough and from edgy shapes to floating sotftness evoke different associations in every viewer. I appreciate the longevity of my prints and the color gamut for my limited edition prints for collectors or exhibitions like the upcoming project ‘desARTification ESSENTIA’.” Nik Barte is our ‘Photographer of the Month’ in German photography magazine ProfiFoto.
I have been a commercial photographer but I am a fine art photographic artist for some 50 years now. I currently live in Sedona, Arizona, USA. An absolutely stunning area. Obviously, I have been aware of your fine papers for some time as many artists swear by Hahnemuhle papers. My question is this…do all professional inks respond or react well on your papers. And if so or if not, which would you recommend or endorse? Many of my Collections are ‘painterly’ while in others I feel the need for a sense of reality. I am curious about trying your current papers.
Thank you,
